So I have to admit, I'm new the whole advertising game (PR born and bred, baby!) When I saw these ads the crew created for a dealership in Ohio, I laughed my ass off...but I'm no critic.
Luckily, these guys are... and someone at Ad Age actually felt the same way as little old me about the Rico ads. Check out last week's article.

If you come to advertising with a PR background then you come with some really important experience.
How advertising agencies are now using the skills of PR people in brand awareness through traditional media, and now, more and more, through new media - in particular - the internet.
Why have you left PR and gone into advertising? Just out of interest (I used to work, until fairly recently, as an advertising account planner, and am interested in the way PR has grown in importance in the advertising world).
Hi eamon...sorry for the late reply (I'm new at this and bad at checking comments!) I'm actually still working in PR, just for an advertising agency... it's definitely a different environment.
I think PR and advertising (and all forms of marketing, really) are starting to mesh into one big field... mostly due to the internet. To keep things simple for me and my team - we define any media that has to be paid for as advertising. While anything else (including editorial or third-party coverage, word-of-mouth buzz, social media discussions, etc.)is in our world...
Check out ragan.com if you're interested in the changing space... it's a great resource.
